Vascular Access Symposium

Brought to you by the MCW Division of Transplant Surgery, this educational activity focuses on Patient Centered Care, which is one of the cornerstones of the CMS Comprehensive ESRD Care Initiative. Keynote speakers presenting on this topic include David Geller, MD, PhD, Yale University School of Medicine, and Deborah Brouwer-Maier, RN, CNN, Fresenius Vascular Care.  Attendees will realize that patient centered care can be adopted successfully in large dialysis networks. The benefits in terms of outcomes, patient satisfaction and overall cost savings will be addressed. To enhance the early recognition of potential access-related complications that should prompt early referral to the surgical team, the Fistula First-Catheter Last One Minute Fistula Check will be reviewed.
