Recommended Treatment Goals

Midwest Kidney Network's Medical Review Committee (MRC) annually reviews and updates its recommended treatment goals. In setting these goals, the MRC relies on available evidence and accepted practice guidelines such as those provided by the Kidney Dialysis Outcomes Quality Initiative (K/DOQI). We at Midwest Kidney Network's Medical Review Committee provide these goals to help dialysis facilities improve patient care and patient outcomes.

Please note a revision to the Nutritional Status section for albumin. The rationale: our other targets in the guidelines are based on the mean performance score in the Quality Incentive Program (essentially the national average for the outcome). Because albumin is not in the Quality Incentive Program, using the national achieved mean value as a target is consistent with the other goals.
